DAY 9-10. 29/01-30/01

Imagen
On my ninth day in Germany, I started my second week of high school with enthusiasm. I was beginning to get to know my classmates better and felt more comfortable. In the afternoon, I worked on a Spanish project and helped Clara with her Spanish homework. On the 30th, I woke up very excited because my host parents had told me we had tickets to go see a basketball game featuring Baskonia. The game was very close and interesting. Although I wanted the Spanish team to win, it didn't happen. It was an amazing day. Upon returning home, we fed the rabbits and went to bed because it was already too late.

DAY 8. 28/01

My second Sunday in Germany was very important. I woke up at 10 in the morning to do some homework, and Clara told me to get dressed because we were going to Munich. So, we got ready and went to catch the train. We spent some time visiting the city with Clara, her friends, and me, and later we tried to see a market that was supposed to be in the Olympic Park. However, since it was Sunday, the market was closed. We took a train back and stopped at a McDonald's to eat. I was surprised to find out that there were no self-service drink machines with reusable cups. Later, we went back home and played board games with the whole family.

DAY 7. 27/01

The last day of my first week of my stay was amazing. I woke up at 11 in the morning and when I went down to have breakfast, I found a bowl full of pancakes that looked really good. After finishing, we dressed up and took the car to Andechs. There, we started walking up the hill until we reached a monastery where the monks were brewing beer. We entered the cathedral and it was beautiful. Later, we went to have lunch at a restaurant with pork accompanied by beer, and then we went back home. It was an intense day because the round trip was long. However, it was worth it.

DAY 6. 26/01

On my sixth day in Germany, everything seemed different. I felt like staying there and not returning to Spain, probably because I was having such a good time. In the morning, we went to school like any other day and returned home around 1 PM. We had lunch, and Clara and I watched an episode of the series I was watching (La Casa de Papel). After that, my host father, Frida, Clara, and I got in the car and headed to drop Clara off at ballet class. Later, we went to a supermarket to buy groceries, and I realized that prices in Germany weren't as high as I had expected. After finishing the shopping, we picked up Clara and went to my host mother's brother's house for a game night. Once we arrived, we had dinner and played a game called Activity. I had such a great time! At that very moment, I knew that nothing could go wrong during my stay in Germany.

DAY 5. 25/01

The fifth day in Germany was full of exciting activities. In the morning, we had a regular day at the school, but in the afternoon, I did a lot of interesting things with my host family. First, I went skateboarding with my host brother, and afterward, we all played with a hoverboard. Later on, Clara, Frida, and I played a game of Monopoly, which we didn't finish (but I was going to win). In the evening, my host parents surprised me and took me to Munich to watch a basketball game between Bayer Munich and Asvel (a French team). The game was very interesting and enjoyable. However, Bayer Munich lost. What an exciting day I had!

DAY 4. 24/01

On my fourth day in Germany, I realized the numerous cultural differences between Spain and Germany. Here, all students have their lunches in the hallways, in the classrooms, or in the cafeteria. In contrast, in Spain, everyone eats during the break outside the school. Another significant cultural shock I noticed was that in Germany, everyone wears jeans, and it's frowned upon to wear tracksuits to school. However, in Spain, many people wear tracksuits, and there's no issue with dressing however you like. Finally, I used to think that Germans were very quiet and had little sense of humor, but I've realized that everyone is quite funny and sociable.

DAY 3. 23/01

My third day in Germany was full of surprises. In the first class, Elisa and I tried to take a math exam that our class had to do. When the bell rang to end the class, the guys and I went to physical education to play different sports like badminton and soccer. This was my first class without Elisa, so I was a bit nervous. However, I had a great time. After physical education, I had lunch with Elisa in the cafeteria and noticed that, unlike in Spain, many people eat at schools in Germany and not at home. In the afternoon, I helped Clara with her Spanish homework and Frida with her French homework.

DAY 2. 22/01

The second day in Germany was full of new and incredible experiences. It was my first day of high school, and I was a bit nervous. To get to Christoph-Probst-Gymnasium, we had to take a bus, a train, and walk for 10 minutes. Once there, I met my new class, and we had a conversation with the school principal and Doris, the ERASMUS+ coordinator in Germany. In the afternoon, I went to play badminton and I played different games with my host family and gave them some gifts I had brought from Spain. Clara and I started getting to know each other better and building more trust. At that moment, I realized that my experience in Germany would only get better with time.

DAY 1 21/01

The first day in Germany was incredible! First, we took a bus from Logroño to Bilbao and then another bus that would take us to LOIU airport. After that, we checked in our luggage and took off to an unknown destination for us. Upon landing, we grabbed our suitcases and met our host sisters. Clara and her mother took me to what would be my home for a month and showed me all the rooms in the house.  Later, Clara and Frida, one of my host sisters, took me for a walk, and we saw all those beautiful snow-covered landscapes. Finally, I had dinner with my host family and met the rest of my siblings, Ana and Noa. It was an amazing day when I realized that ERASMUS+ would be one of the best experiences of my adolescence.
